Motorcycles and Baseball

At this Saturdays Chicago White Sox – Oakland A's game, which was televised nationally, via cable by WGN TV, about 100 members of the Harley Owners Group in Oakland, California, presented a check to a local charity. The announcing team of Hawk and Wimpy gave the promotion a nice spot on the broadcast. HOG members were shown enjoying the game in the stands. A very positive picture of motorcyclists was shown.

The Chicago Chapter of ABATE of Illinois will be holding a somewhat similar event, this August 27. For details click link below.

ABATE'S Baseball Day

Motorcycle ban co-sponsor accused of vote fraud

Alderman Helen Shiller (46th) a co-signer of the infamous Lake Shore Drive motorcycle ban is being accused in the public prints of stealing last April's run-off election. Raymond R. Coffey, writing in the Chicago Sun-Times has in published two articles in the last several weeks blistering the election day "tactics" used by the Schiller campaign.

According to the Coffey article, in one instance a single room occupancy hotel on Wilson Ave. with a legal maximum of 50 residents came up with an incredible 83 registered voters on election day. The Alderman's son reportedly is registered from seven different addresses. Two voters in the 35th precinct were allowed to vote, even though the building where they lived had been vacant for weeks and was leveled by election day.

Sandra Reed the woman who challenged Shiller has been reportedly been pushing the U.S. Attorney's office to investigate the charges. So far the Fed's and the Cook County States Attorney's office have shown little interest in perusing the matter, despite the Sun-Times articles, and Reed's efforts.

Perhaps we can turn up the heat. This unrepentant Marxist has blocked positive development in the 46th ward for years, to keep her political base of winos and welfare recipients corralled in Uptown. Her co-sponsoring of the Lake Shore Drive motorcycle ban shows she is more concerned that derelicts be allowed to drink wine on Wilson Avenue, that motorcyclists be allowed to use the highways that are paid for by their tax dollars. The City of Chicago would be a better place without Helen Shiller.

Hillary Watch

First she became a Yankee fan, now it comes to light that she has Jewish kin. Jimmie Breslin and Ed Koch appearing on This Week both seemed to get a laugh out of this latest revelation about our first lady. Breslin reported that according to a private poll taken in New York that Hillary has a 45% negativity rating compared to Giuliani's 25%.

Both Breslin and Koch feel Hillary can't win in New York.
