I commented early on an article about President Ford by Bob Dole in the Washington Post this morning.
Senator Dole's article in the Washington Post:
My remarks as listed in the comments section:
It was easy to forget the economic difficulty this county faced during that period. Coupled with the malaise that President Ford's successor described the mood of post –Viet Nam America, a long drawn out trial of a disgraced former president would have set back a recovery, in many areas a number of years.
Senator Dole is right in describing President Ford's life as a Profile in decency. It is a shame that the current Republican leadership has taken another course. Where are the Everett McKinley Dirksen's and Gerald Fords in the GOP today?
